Here's a link in changing the interface name or renumber a Cisco stack member switch. There's a logical correlation between the switch number and the interface name, i.e. GigabitEthernet1/0/x belongs to Switch 1 and GigabitEthernet2/0/x belongs to Switch 2 and so on.
Issue a show switch command to verify the role and number of member switches in the stack. I used a Cisco 3650 switch but the command is similar in other Cisco Catalyst switch that supports stacking.

In this case, I wanted Switch 3 interfaces to be renumbered from Gi3/0/x to Gi1/0/x. Use the switch <CURRENT STACK NUMBER> renumber <NEW STACK NUMBER> privileged EXEC command.
